About
What I Do
I support people in their mid-life years who either want to take control over their typical age-related health issues, or want to maintain good health and avoid developing such issues.
It is common for individuals around this age to become aware of conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, belly fat, inflammatory illnesses and generalised weight gain.
These develop as a result of the natural ageing process and the body starting to behave differently. As we continue with our lifestyle habits of our youth, the body simply becomes over-burdened.
Making long-term changes to improve health on one’s own is not easy.
As a Health Coach, I recognise you have your own preferences, lifestyle and goals. We work together, combining current principles of healthy living, effective coaching methodologies and your individual preferences to develop sustainable changes for the long-term.
Where required, I can work alongside your doctor to monitor and report progress.
Why I Do It
The last 20 years or so have brought about major developments in the understanding of the workings of the human body and brain. New research is starting to shape advice being given by the medical fraternity, and some of this advice reverses advice given earlier.
It is now widely acknowledged that much can be done to improve individual health and well-being in later years and that advancing years do not necessarily need to be accompanied with declining health.
As we live longer, with life expectancy higher than ever before, we owe it to ourselves to take action now so that we can look forward to our later years with good health and vitality
So much information that is available is biased, conflicting, out-dated or aimed at younger bodies. An added complication is that our bodies have changed with advancing years and what worked earlier simply does not any more.
All of this means that we need to take a new approach to being healthy. As we introduce The beauty of the workings of the body is that
the results are compounded
It simply is not the case that what works for one will necessarily work for others when it comes to health, nutrition and lifestyle, particularly at this stage of our lives. Working with you individually means we can work with your preferences, habits and goals so that the changes we make are sustainable long term.
Information about findings from recent medical and scientific research as well as generalised recommended practice for health and well-being can be found in the Recent Findings section.

About Me
My interest in health and well-being began when I tried a yoga class in my late teens, and I was hooked. As the years went by, first studying, then working in the field of Accountancy, on to other life changes revolving around family and children and a couple of international relocations, yoga remained a constant. Somewhere along the line, accountancy started to lose its appeal while I started to get increasingly interested in the mind and body connection and how each impacts the functioning of the other. I explored various forms of yoga, meditation and spiritual practice, began Pilates and got certified as a Neurolinguistic Programming Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, a Life Coach and a Health Coach.
I believe to a very large extent we are in control of our own well-being and there is much we can do to improve our physical and mental health. This is the message I would like to share and support people attain their best.
